Mushaira Heritage

A living tradition

Poetry held in trust for the next generation.

The first AAAA Mushaira was held in 1985 at Woodruff Hall, Emory University, with poets from India, Pakistan, Canada and the United States. The gathering has continued through in-person and online seasons, becoming a record of friendship as much as a record of verse.

This archive is being assembled from association programs, invitations, recordings and the compiled Mushaira record. Years with incomplete records remain visible so the gaps can be researched rather than guessed.

Archive compilation credited to Rasheed Ahmad and Syed Waseem. Additional sources are listed with each year.
